The NHCA Inc. is a national non-profit, a-political and non-sectarian alliance, designed to represent the entire broad spectrum of Natural Healthcare in Australia.
Objectives of the NHCA
promote Natural Health Care (NHC) in Australia in a positive and professional light and protect the uniqueness and diversity of NHC within the framework of evidence based medicine (EBM)
provide a single reliable contact point for media, regulators and Government on all issues relating to NHC and establish positive working links to all relevant areas of the industry
educate media, government bodies, the orthodox medical industry and the public about NHC as a sustainable and affordable way of improving the health of all Australians
lobby government at all levels to influence national health policy by incorporating NHC as a safe alternative with the focus remaining on patient well being
Who belongs to the NHCA?
We are a mix of strategic affiliations of both individuals, and organizational members that are drawn from diverse backgrounds within the Natural Healthcare arena. We endeavor to bring together a broad spectrum of skills and extensive experience as practitioners, manufacturers, educators, researchers and advocates, in the area of Natural Healthcare.
We also actively encourage members of the public who are concerned about current issues affecting the Natural Healthcare sector, to support us and join Friends of NHCA.
The NHCA is a national organization and we are aiming to establish branches in every state. If you would be interested in representing the NHCA at State Level contact us on admin@nhca.com.au
The NHCA relies on membership subscriptions, voluntary practitioner levy and donations to fund the organization's activities. It is also entirely manned by voluntary staff, who have ben working pro bono since mid 2003. We need your support to get to the next level !
Why the need for the NHCA?
In light of the proposed TGA legislative changes arising from the Expert Committee recommendations, the impending Trans Tasman Harmonization with New Zealand, the confusion of Codex and the unknown implications as yet, of the Free Trade Agreement, with the US, there has never been a greater need for our industry to have a UNITED voice .
On numerous occasions the Government has expressed a desire to be able to communicate with just one representative group on issues related to natural healthcare, and it is the desire of the NHCA, if given the mandate, to become that body.
